Mikayla Baxter

Syringa Team

My name is Mikayla Baxter I am a native Idahoan and have lived in Idaho for most of my life. I am a recent addition to the administration team here at Syringa and am also a Habilitative Interventionist. I have been working for Syringa for more than a year and am fortunate to be a part of such an amazing team! Currently I am a teacher of our Zones of Regulation boys’ class and recently began plan writing. Furthermore, I have training in PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), Social Thinking, and Discrete Teaching Trials. I love exploring crafty art projects with my clients and enjoy developing creative and fun ways to do therapy.

I have my bachelor degree in Psychology attained at Boise State University after attending North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene. The majority of my career has involved working with at risk children and families. I have a passion for positively influencing children early on to promote their successful future. Furthermore I have extensive volunteer experience with Victim Services through the Austin Police Department in Austin, Texas.

Outside of my time spent at Syringa, I enjoy spending time with my animal family. My two kitties, Bob and The Dude, have been a part of my family for a decade and counting! Recently I added a two year old labradoodle named Willy to my family. I also enjoy backpacking and hiking.

Currently I am preparing to complete my second half marathon in the next year.
