Intervention

Intervention is a direct service that utilizes techniques to produce positive meaningful changes in behavior that incorporates functional replacement behaviors and reinforcement-based strategies while also addressing any identified skill needs. This service is available to children who exhibit interfering behaviors that impact their independence or abilities which can include social skills and communication or destructive behaviors. Intervention can be provided utilizing evidence-based or evidence-informed practices that are used to promote positive behaviors and learning while reducing interfering behaviors.

Interdisciplinary Training

Interdisciplinary Training (IDT) is a companion service and can be used to collaborate with other professionals in the community that your child is involved with. This may include but is not limited to: Speech Language and/or Hearing Professional (SLP), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), and other medical professionals like a Physician or Specialist, Dentist, Ophthalmologist if the child’s behaviors interfere with medical care. We are more than happy to accompany your child to these therapy appointments if they are embedded into our regularly scheduled sessions, and parents and other service providers agree IDT will be beneficial to your child’s progress.

Crisis Intervention

Crisis Intervention provides direct emergency intervention and may also provide staff training related to the needs of the child. When we utilize Crisis Intervention for staff training, the child is not required to be present. Crisis Intervention can be utilized to update your child’s assessment and clinical treatment plan and/or create a crisis plan that addresses the behavior occurring and the necessary intervention strategies to minimize the behavior.

Community Based Support

This service provides an opportunity for children to explore their interests, practice skills learned in other therapeutic environments, and learn through interactions in typical community activities. Integration into the community enables children to expand their skills related to activities of daily living and reinforces skills to achieve or maintain mobility, sensory-motor activity, communication, socialization, personal care (to prepare for the community activity), relationship building, and participation in leisure and community activities.

Family Education

Our Family Education services are delivered by a Bachelor’s or Master’s level staff to direct you on generalized strategies for behavioral modification and intervention techniques specific to your child’s needs. It may also provide assistance to the parent or legal guardian in educating other unpaid caregivers (family members who watch your children for you, church groups and classes, etc.) regarding the needs of the child. Your child does not have to be present for you to participate in Family Education.

Respite

Respite provides supervision to your child on an intermittent or short-term basis because of the need for relief of the primary unpaid caregiver. Respite is also available in response to your family in the event of an emergency or crisis, or may be used on a regular basis to provide relief to the caregiver.
